Key Recommendations After Your Adjustment
- Drink plenty of water
Hydration is one of the most important things right after an adjustment. It helps flush out any toxins released from tissues, lubricates joints, supports muscle recovery, and reduces potential soreness. - Go for a small, gentle stroll or light movement
Gentle activity like a short walk helps reinforce the alignment changes, promotes blood flow, prevents stiffness, and keeps your body from locking back into old patterns. Avoid sitting for long periods—get up and move lightly. Keep it easy and low-impact (e.g., 10–20 minutes of walking); skip strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, or high-intensity activities for at least 24 hours (or as advised). - Rest and relax when needed
Give your body time to settle—get good sleep, avoid stress, and take it easy if you feel tired (a common mild side effect). Rest supports natural healing. - Maintain good posture
Be mindful of how you sit, stand, and move to help the adjustment hold longer. - If pain or soreness persists
Mild soreness (like after a workout) can happen for a day or two as your body adjusts—it’s usually temporary.- Use ice packs first (especially in the first 24–48 hours) for inflammation, swelling, or sharp discomfort: Apply for 15–20 minutes every few hours, wrapped in a cloth to protect your skin.
- Topical creams like Stiff Sore and Sorry (a natural gel with arnica, capsicum, and essential oils, for muscle/joint relief) or similar physio/sports creams (e.g., those with menthol or anti-inflammatory ingredients) can help soothe sore muscles. Apply as directed on the product.
- If you have been using heat packs, talk to Dr Kevin about this.
Additional Tips to enhance your care
- Follow any home exercises, stretches, or specific instructions.
- Avoid jerky movements, heavy strain, or extreme activities right away.
- Careful with making the bed, vacuuming and trigger movements for you
- If you are unsure of anything that you are feeling, please call.
These steps help your body hold the adjustment better and recover faster—many people feel great with consistent hydration, light movement, and simple self-care.
